Bruce and Grey Counties are in Southwestern Ontario, bordered by Lake Huron, Georgian Bay and the Niagara Escarpment. This area is one of Ontario’s favourite four-season playgrounds. Paddle, dive or fish in the clear blue waters of Georgian Bay, relax on the white sand beaches of Lake Huron, explore the many rivers and streams. Follow the Bruce Trail along the rugged limestone cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment. Ski and snowboard at Blue Mountain. The area has one National Park, three Provincial Parks and several Conservation areas.

The safe, friendly community of Owen Sound and the smaller towns in Grey and Bruce Counties are excellent places to raise a family. This rural small-town life is available only a few hours from the busy urban centres of Toronto, London and Barrie. 

Known as the Scenic City, Owen Sound features an expansive harbour and bay, winding rivers, tree-lined streets, extensive parks and trails and a thriving, historic downtown.

Key natural attractions include Inglis Falls, Harrison Park, Kelso Beach Park and several conservation areas. The Bruce Trail forms a ribbon around the city along the escarpment, connecting waterfalls.

Project Welcome partners with The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce to match pre-arrival immigrants with mentors in their occupation in the region. The YMCA has been serving this community since 1877, enriching the lives of people of all ages. The organization works to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout Grey and Bruce.
