The Project Welcome Virtual Expo: Small Communities, Big Opportunities is an online event hosted by JVS Toronto’s pre-arrival program Canada InfoNet. The event connects skilled newcomers with employment and settlement opportunities in small and mid-sized Canadian communities.
This event is open to:
  • Newcomers – pre-arrival and landed immigrants exploring settlement options in Canada
  • Job seekers looking for career opportunities in small communities
  • Community organizations and stakeholders supporting integration and growth
  • Employers and service providers interested in connecting with talent
The event will be held virtually on February 12th, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm EST.
The event is organized by JVS Toronto’s Canada InfoNet program in collaboration with New Canadians TV. Canada InfoNet is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Attendees

Register online via our official event page, Project Welcome Virtual Expo: Big Opportunities in Canada's Small Communities. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with login details.
No. The Project Welcome Virtual Expo is free to attend for all participants.
Participants will be able to:
  • Learn about settlement services, housing, and community supports
  • Attend live information sessions, workshops, and panel discussions
  • Network with community representatives, mentors, and other participants
  • Meet with employers and recruiters hiring in small communities
We recommend:
  • Coming with a curious mindset to learn about Canadian communities
  • Preparing questions for mentors, employers, or community organizations
  • Ensuring you have a stable internet connection to join virtual sessions
Some sessions may be recorded and shared with registered participants after the event. Live networking opportunities are best experienced in real time. Content about small communities in Canada may be accessible for up to one year after the event.

Complete the Exhibitor Registration Form on our event page. Once approved, you’ll receive setup instructions and support to build your virtual booth.
Yes. Communities that cannot join the live event can still feature their resources and information, which will remain accessible to attendees throughout the event period.
Yes. Our event team will provide a step-by-step exhibitor information session and offer technical assistance before and during the event.
We recommend:
  • Uploading engaging videos, photos, and materials that showcase your community
  • Having a representative available for live chats during event hours
  • Preparing short introductions or presentations to attract visitors
